former director of the discipline inspection team of the Ministry ofConstruction Guo Xiquan died at the age of 88

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, December 31. Comrade Guo Xiquan, leader of thediscipline inspection and supervision team of the former Ministry of Constructionand former party member of the Ministry of Construction, died of medicalineffectiveness on December 13, 2019 at the age of 88.

After the death of Comrade Guo Xiquan, the relevant leading comrades of theCentral Committee expressed condolences in different ways and expressedcondolences to relatives.

Guo Xiquan was born in Shulan, Jilin in December 1931. He joined therevolutionary work in September 1948 and joined the Communist Party of China inOctober of the same year. In October 1956, he became the Director of theOrganization Department of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee, the inspectorof the Central Organization Department, and the Director of the CentralFinance, Trade and Political Department. In March 1969, he worked in theMay 7th cadre school in Ningxia. In August 1972, he successively served asthe deputy director of the Party Committee Office of the Chinese HistoryMuseum, a bureau-level researcher, the director of the First Division of theOrganization Department of the CPC Central Committee, a member of the StandingCommittee of the Party Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and theMinister of the Organization Department. In May 1988, he was appointedDeputy Director of the National Aging Committee of China. In May 1991, heserved as the disciplinary inspection team leader of the Central Commission forDiscipline Inspection of the Ministry of Construction, and as a member of theparty group of the Ministry of Construction in November of the sameyear. In November 1995, he was appointed Chairman of China NationalConstruction Corporation. In October 1998, he served as president of theChinese Construction Workers' Ideological and Political Work ResearchAssociation. He retired in October 2001.
