The principal offender who sold the baby girl marked with a clear price hasbeen sentenced to 13 years in prison, and the case remains unclear.

Recently, in the "12.14" series of child trafficking cases prosecutedby the Shexian Procuratorate of Hubei Province, the court made a final judgmentof second instance: dismiss the appeal and maintain the originalsentence. The main offender, Shen, was sentenced to 13 years in prison fortrafficking in children and fined 120,000 yuan. The other six defendants weresentenced to 11 to 2 years in prison for trafficking in children.

In order to make a huge profit, the baby girl was sold at a high price.

In an ordinary honey trade, Huang from Dingzhou, Hebei met Shen from GuangnanCounty, Yunnan. Two people who knew each other quickly got together andkept close ties on selling babies for huge profits.

On November 3, 2018, Huang contacted Shen with WeChat and learned that a babygirl had been betrayed in Shen somewhere. He invited Zhang and Qiao todrive to Yanshan County, Yunnan Province, and agreed to pay 200 yuan per personper day. After arriving in Yanshan County, Shen took Huang to a farmer'shouse. Huang gave Shen 30,000 yuan in cash and took away a babygirl. After returning to Dingzhou, Huang paid Zhang and Qiao 1,000 yuaneach. After the introduction of Cui's agent, Huang sold the baby girl formore than 70,000 yuan, and Cui received an introduction fee of more than 10,000yuan.

On November 16 of the same year, Huang again hired Zhang and Qiao to drive toYanshan County and spent 60,000 yuan to buy two daughters from Shen. AfterYang, Liu and others "matched", the two baby girls were sold for75,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan, respectively. Yang and Liu received introductionfees of 10,000 yuan and 3,000 yuan, respectively.

After two successful sales of baby girls, Huang's greed swelled. In earlyDecember 2018, Huang took Zhang and Liu to Yanshan County for the third timeand spent 24,000 yuan to take away a 3-day-old baby girl from Shen. Whenthe three men drove back to the toll station on the highway from Hubei toHenan, they were captured by traffic police on duty at the scene. The casewas thus submitted.

The suspects were arrested one after the other.

On December 16, 2018, the Criminal Investigation Team of the Shexian PublicSecurity Bureau reported the case as a "12.14" series of childtrafficking cases for investigation. In view of the seriousness of thecase and the participation of minors, the prosecutor of the ShexianProcuratorate intervened in advance to guide supplementary investigations andobtain evidence, and arrested several suspects.

After interrogation, Huang and three others confessed to the fact that they hadtrafficked a baby girl, and truthfully confessed the crime of trafficking fourgirls in three provinces. According to the confessions of the three men,the public security organs went to Yunnan and Hebei province to arrest Shen,Qiao and Cui.

After examination by the She County Procuratorate, the other three were alsosuspected of child trafficking and asked the public security organs toinvestigate.

When Shen went to the back, he always gave excuses, such as "unclear"and "never done that". He denied all solid facts, such ascontact with Huang and eating with the same person.

The procuratorate took the lead in collecting evidence. The principal offenderwas sentenced to 13 years in prison.

In order to forcefully accuse the principal Shen of "zeroconfession", the county procuratorate issued a detailed supplementaryinvestigation outline to the investigating agency to actively guide theinvestigation and evidence collection work.

In response to the lie that picking up the phone and not knowing the power-onpassword, the hospital asked the investigating authority to use technical meansto crack the phone and retrieve the contact records of Shen and Huang toconfirm that they not only have frequent contacts with Huang, but also havetime related to the time of the three crimes. They match, and there aremessages such as "Wait a minute, I go to his house" and "Too underestimated".

After investigation, it was basically determined that the woman who betrayedthe baby girl three times was the same person, namely the defendant Shen inthis case. In order to obtain more conclusive evidence, the hospital ledthe investigation agency to Shen's residence and other places for furtherinvestigation and evidence collection. The investigation agency conducteda search of Shen's rental house to obtain relevant information consistent withHuang's statement, and finally confirmed that Shen was a suspect.
