overseas in a sensitive period. January 7th-At a time when US-Iranrelations are strained, the Pentagon sent a message to Gogarcia has sent sixB-52 bombers in response to possible military action against Iraq at any time.
According to CNN, Fox News, and other US media sources, on the 6th local time, the media asked the military to confirm and learned that the United States AirForce deployed six B-52 bombers at the military base of Diego Garcia. Distance between Diego Garcia and Iran.
Pentagon officials revealed that six B-52 bombers could be used to attack Iranif an order of operations is issued. Of course, this does not mean thatthe United States has made any decision on the attack.
It is understood that the B-52 bomber is equipped with eight engines, thisdesign can be used to carry a large number of weapons, including cruisemissiles, conventional missiles and laser guided missiles, and nuclear gravitybombs.
It is reported that this is the second time the U.S. military has deployed B-52bombers to the area since 2019. In May 2019, the White House received informationabout the so-called threat from Iran and ordered the deployment of six B-52bombers, deployed at a U.S. military base in Qatar, and so on.
So why deploy on this small island in the Indian Ocean? The Pentagonstates that the United States has several military bases near Iran, but thistime it chose Diego Garcia because it exceeded Iran's longest missile range andensured the safety of U.S. military aircraft.
The United States military base in Diego Garcia has been stationed for about 50years, and there are currently about 3,000 to 5,000 US military personnel onthe island.
