Germany withdraws more than 30 soldiers from Iraq to transfer overnight

According to Der Spiegel, in the early hours of January 7, local time, 32German soldiers in the northern camp in Baghdad had flown to Jordan. Inaddition, three German soldiers stationed at the headquarters of the"Anti-Intelligence Coalition" in Baghdad were also operating withother American soldiers at night.
All German soldiers in central Iraq have now been transferred.
According to an earlier report by Reuters, on January 5, local time, the IraqiNational Assembly approved a bill requiring all foreign troops in Iraq towithdraw. The United States has explicitly rejected this request andemphasized that its military should remain in Iraq to help fight extremeforces.
