Xinhua News Agency, Damascus, January 8th. Syrian media reported on the 8ththat U.S. troops withdrew from two bases in Hasak Governorate in northeastSyria on the same day to prepare for Iraq.

According to the Syrian News Agency, approximately 40 trucks carrying weaponsand equipment were evacuated from a U.S. military base in the Malikie region innortheastern Hasak Governorate, and another 50 trucks carrying weapons andmaterials were transported from an American Evacuation of militarybases. Two groups of U.S. troops are massing along the Syria-Iraq borderin eastern Hasakah province to prepare for entry into Iraqi territory.

The report pointed out that the US military evacuated several hours after theIranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards launched a missile attack on the Iraqimilitary base stationed by the US military.

According to Iranian media reports on the 8th, the Iranian IslamicRevolutionary Guards and US forces fired dozens of missiles at two Iraqimilitary bases in the early morning of the 8th in retaliation for the killingof Iranian military commander Qassim Suleimani. The Pentagon laterconfirmed this and said it was considering how to respond.
