Lebanon Prosecutor: Nissan's former chairman Ghosn willbe rumored on the 9th

Xinhua News Agency Beirut January 8th-Lebanese prosecutorshave told Nissan Carlos Ghosn, the former chairman of the carcompany, issued a subpoena and plans to investigate the contents of the"red wanted" issued by Interpol on the 9th.

Lebanese official state news agency reported on the 8th that Lebaneseprosecutor Gasan Oida will begin interrogating Ghosn in Beirut on the 9th tohear his testimony.

At the same time, Ghosn must give testimony on two cases in which Lebaneselawyers accused him of entering Israel and talking to Israeli officials.

At a press conference in Beirut on the 8th, Ghosn denied all Japaneseaccusations against him and stated that he intends to stay in Lebanon for along time. This is his first public appearance since he fled Japan toLebanon late last month.

Ghosn, 65, holds Brazilian, French and Lebanese passports. On November 19,2018, Ghosn was arrested in Japan on suspicion of concealing huge personalincome and embezzling company funds for private expenditure and other economicissues. Ghosn himself has denied all allegations. In April 2019,Ghosn was arrested again. After that, the court granted Ghosn on bail, butasked him not to leave Japan. A Japanese court was scheduled to hold ahearing on Ghosn's case in April 2020, but Ghosn left Japan and arrived inLebanon by the end of 2019.

There is no extradition agreement between Lebanon and Japan. Albert Sehan,Justice Minister of the Lebanese caretaker government, said on the 7th thatGhosn's entry into Lebanon is legal and his residence in Lebanon is also legal.
